Code Institute is looking for talented Cohort Facilitators at the junior developer level who enjoy learning, teaching, and helping others succeed. These roles will focus primarily on students undertaking a LEVEL 5 Qualification in Coding who are based in Ireland.

As a Cohort Facilitator you will be responsible for facilitating special cohorts to ensure forward momentum for students and success in completing their programme. You will also be responsible for co-ordinating with ETBs and other specialised cohorts and channel to ensure the administrative requirements of the programme are met.

This position is available either remotely or in our Dublin office in Blackrock.

Requirements

  • Proficiency with the following coding technologies taught in our Full-Stack course: HTML, CSS, JS, Python and Django.
  • Problem solving skills, including code reading ability, deductive reasoning and the ability to effectively use Google and online documentation sources, while applying critical reading skills.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills, particularly when explaining technical topics. Prior teaching/tutoring/facilitation experience is a plus.
  • Previous experience as an educator or a Facilitator desirable.
  • Ability to manage your time effectively.

Main Duties and responsibilities

  • Facilitate students to maintain a high level of student engagement and motivation.
  • To report on the required student engagement to the ETB to and to the Learning Operations Manager.
  • To run regular stand-up sessions with students.
  • Provide students with online support for advanced coding-related questions that weren’t resolved via community support through one-on-one and one-to-many sessions via text, video and screen sharing.
  • Own technical issues in the systems that students use for their learning (e.g. LMS, Slack Code.it).
  • Facilitate conversation and encourage students to help one another on slack.
  • Contribute to webinars to promote the recruitment process.
  • Where there is a requirement for a programme, contribute to the student hiring evaluation process.
  • Based on insights from student questions and knowledge gaps, propose and implement improvements to the course code examples and other content.
  • Based on insights gathered, propose, plan and implement opportunities to improve, simplify and automate processes related to student learning.

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: From €32,000.00 per year
